It’s always exciting when a local young person goes on to success in her or his chosen field.The next guest on “A Day in the Life” at the MCC has done just that. Jessica Vander Kooij was an active, engaged and popular student at Huron Park Public School and Midland Secondary School. She was attracted to the TV industry. She attended Canadore College in North Bay in Broadcasting, TV and Video. She did a placement term with CHUM TV (“Much Music”, “Cityline” etc.) which led to a part-time job which led to a full time job (“Breakfast Television”) which led to numerous promotions.

And today she is the Executive Producer of the very popular and highly successful “Property Brothers” programs on HGTV Canada and HGTV US.

She has received an Emmy Nomination and the show has won a Canadian Screen Award for Best Life Style Program or Series.
